Princess Nokia might well be one of New York’s best kept secrets, but not for long we reckon. This is how we like our rap artists: independent, self-made and verbally ruthless. Her difficult childhood in the Bronx quickly became an inspiration for her rap music. With cinematic descriptions of the city and its inhabitants she creates a wondrous lyrical universe. Add a five-star flow and one motherf***er of a punk attitude and you’ll get why many record companies are desperately trying to pull her in. This lady is going places and we’ll be watching.
